BABIRUSA DANZA IN COREÓGRAFOS IN COMUNIDAD EN EL CONDE DUQUE MADRID.


The ultimate aim of the project is to make the public aware of the choreographic work, both the finished productions and those still in the development process, that the choreographers have carried through during their month of residency at Conde Duque. The pieces will be performed twice yearly, in February and June. As a complement to this creative work, “Choreographers in Community” will programme, along with Conde Duque, a series of activities to further promote a culture of dance.


 
Choreographers in Community” brings together young creative artists of similar ages, coming from four different countries and all living in Madrid, who together represent the vanguard of what dance is today in the city:Mey-Ling Bisogno, Pablo Esbert, Sharon Fridman, Camille Hanson, Janet Novás, Beatriz Palenzuela, Manuel Rodríguez and Jesús Rubio. All of these artists have well-established careers, international experience and a desire to share with the world the vitality of the choreographic scene in our city


 ÁNIMO ANIMAL IN SANTANDER.

This Fraday 7th June Babirusa Danza will be in Santander with Ánimo Animal in  Programa Dentro del Laberinto in Parque del Palacio de la Magdalena at 21:30h.



Ánimo Animal is a piece for unconventional venues. It arises from Communication Breakdown, a choreography that was awarded at II Capturadanza Theatre Competition of Madrid 2010 (II Concurso Capturadanza Teatro de Madrid 2010) and at Madrid Choreographic Competition 2010 (Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid 2010). Ánimo Animal was selected to take part at X International Street Arts Festival of Valladolid.

Beatriz Palenzuela, director of  Babirusa Danza has been award with First Price of  Certamen DeUnaPieza 2013 celebrated in  Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.






TECHNICAL RESIDENCIE IN  NAVE DEL DUENDE. FEBRERO 2014


Actually the piece is in procces and it is the beginning of a long 
format work that will finish in February 2014 in Techcical Residencie in Nave del Duende.



¿M.R.U.M.? (Can You Give Me A Movement/Gift?) in Centro Coreográfico de Coslada-Larumbe Danza

DÍA INTERNACIONAL DE LA DANZA

Babirusa Danza  and his Project  ¿M.R.U.M.? (Can You Give Me A Movement/Gift?) will made a Technical Residencie in  Centro Coreográfico de Coslada-Larumbe Danza during 24, 25, 26 y 27 de Abril  to continue investigating in his creative process, ligth desing and Video Mapping.
This Technical Residencie has been conceded by  Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid in his XXVI Edition.
 
On Saturday 27th of April at 20:00 h Babirusa Danza will show a work in progress about the research during the residencie.






¿M.R.U.M.? Can You Give Me A Movement? in Pública 13.

Babirusa Danza and their dance project ¿M.R.U.M.? 
(Can you give me a movement?) represented by ImpulsARTS will participate in the event Pública 13 on the 24th and 25th January.

For its interest in the current cultural scene, the organizers of this conference have decided to include information about ¿M.R.U.M.?(Can You Give Me A
Movement?) in this event welcoming pack.

Pública 13 is an initiative of Fundación Contemporánea where the most distinguished national and international professionals meet and which is supported by the Cultural Department of the Government and the Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID).

COMMUNICATION BREAKDOW IN FESTIVAL IDN  AT MERCAT DE LES FLORS

Babirusa Danza has been selected to take part in Festival IDN for its videodance piece Communication Breakdown.
IDN Festival for Image and Dance: interactive dance, installationsand video dance. Founded in 2007 by the director
Nuria Font-Nu2's, Festival IDN is a window from which show and observe how the incorporation of images and digital
tools take part in the renewal of the movement arts. IDN is organised by Nu2's and Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona.

Communication Breakdown  was created during an artistic residency at El Navegatorio 09 and was awarded with the II Prize of Photography and Videodance at CAPTURADANZA 2010 Theatre in Madrid.






Babirusa Danza has been selected in 4th Artistic Residencies of Centro de Danza Canal with ¿M.R.U.M.? (Can You Give Me A Movement/Gift?). 







Pre-premiere ¿M.R.U.M.? (Can You Give Me A Movement/Gift?) (On Friday, 16th of March, at 20 p.m. in the Cultural centre Eduardo Úrculo. Address: Plaza Donoso 5 Metro Ventilla.
The next Saturday, 3d of December¿M.R.U.M.? (Can you give me a movement as a present?) will take part in the XX CHOREOGRAPHIC CONTEST MADRID  in the theatre Fernán Gómez in Madrid with a Video Installation.

Paso a 2 Choreographic Platform Cultural association/ Choreographic contest of Madrid has got the prize MAX by the New Tendencies 2011 appreciating the contribution to the development and spreading the Spanish contemporary choreographic creation, pledging for up-and-coming talents.
